It depends! Having a mix of both when photographing events usually works best as it gives decision-makers options. They can decide on what they need post-event. It is common for businesses to send group photos, including the VIPs to the VIPs. Group photos that the photographer poses have the advantage of showing everybody's face clearly without any unexpected expressions. Images for social media can contain a mixture of candid and posed shots.

Chingay is an annual event in Singapore, recognised for the giant decorated floats that parade the streets. The following are some images from a large-scale art and culture carnival held in conjunction with the Chingay Parade. It was great! There were cheerleaders, cosplayers, magicians, percussionists and dozens of booths showcasing interest groups offered at the community centres.
